Step 1 - Identify key stakeholders in your change

In this initial step our tool helps you create your Change Network Map across the organisational areas that are impacted. At this stage you are able to identify people who will fulfil a range of key roles in the change including

  • Adapters - need to change their behaviour, attitude or skills
  • Sponsors - legitimise this change project for the Adapters and ensure the change is implemented
  • Change Agents - plan and execute activities that enable people to adapt
  • Influencers - influence others and can potentially deliver positive informal communication
  • Solution builders - design the components of the change

Step 2 - Assess key relationships and influence

At this stage you are able to enhance your Network map and provide a more comprehensive of the scope and challenge of the change by adding further descriptive data that includes:

  • whether critical network players view the change favourably or not
  • if key influencers are supportive, neutral or against the change
  • the quality of power relationships
  • the proximity of power relationships and location numbers
  • an overall assessment of the degree of influence

Step 3 - Define your Change network

An effective Change Network is key for your success. At this point you want to ensure that:

  • specific change roles are clearly defined and individuals with the right skills are in place
  • people in key change roles with different types of power and influence, are operating in a co-ordinated way

Step 4 - Identify key stakeholder issues and actions

In this stage you can use our Stakeholder Analysis grid to:

  • position them in terms of both their power to influence change and commitment to change
  • put in place specific plans to help or influence them
  • using a combination of persuasion, engagement, isolation or reward
